As a Maryland Fresh 48 photographer, I wanted to share one of my favorite sessions ever. I can’t believe I hadn’t blogged this session earlier! While I am currently only shooting outdoor sessions (hopefully this won’t be the case for long!), I look back so fondly on this session. Fresh 48s are THE BEST! They are so much fun to shoot! I absolutely adore capturing those precious first couple of days of a baby’s life and entrance into a family unit.
One of my favorite parts of this session was when big sisters came to visit their little sister. Their love and excitement was overflowing and it was so special to be there to capture such a special moment. And how cute was the color coordination between gorgeous mama and baby?! Baby girl’s Mebie Baby swaddle was perfection. I am truly so honored to have been able to capture this beautiful family as a family of five for the first time!
As a Maryland fresh 48 photographer, I am often asked what Fresh 48 sessions are. They are very special sessions occurring while you are still in the hospital after having a baby. One of the most common questions I have been asked is how do I make a hospital room look less like a hospital room. The answer is simply, “I don’t.” We embrace the session for exactly what it is but I do have some critical tricks up my sleeve. First, you don’t have to worry about tidying up – I do all of that. Whether it is hiding stuff or moving things around, I am not shy to make sure that things look neat to focus completely on your family and new baby. Second, I edit out distractions like plugs on the walls! Sometimes, little tweaks make a huge difference.
