As a DC cake smash photographer, these sessions hold a special place in my heart. Nothing is more special to me that photos of my own babies, and capturing similar milestones for other parents is such an honor. I wish that I had cake smash photos with my first baby, but I had just started out with portrait photography at the time! With my second, we were on lockdown and I decided to take all of the money we would have spent on a birthday party on studio equipment. From that came some of my most cherished photos of her!

It was an extra honor when Belle of TuBelle Photography asked me to take cake smash photos of baby R! Photographing another photographer’s family is the highest compliment. We had such a blast planning this colorful, travel themed session for baby R’s first birthday. The photos turned out beautifully with all of the colors! And how cute is this sweet boy?!

Pricing totally depends on the vision and how involved you want to be in managing the preparation for the session. Some families, like Belle, already had a vision in mind and vendors to partner with. Other times, I have creative freedom and do all of the planning from start to finish. Whatever works for you works for me and we will plan the budget around your individual needs!
