Rose Garden Newborn Session

As a Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer, my favorite locations involve flowers, flower, and more flowers! The tough part can be timing sessions just right to capture blooms in the DMV. Whether it be cherry blossoms, roses, tulip fields, etc., it is always worth it to make the trip to any of these stunning locations.

This is the second newborn session I have captured for this sweet family, and both have been so very special. I absolutely love that they wanted to include their furry family member both times! With a toddler and newborn in tow, this family decided that shooting in the middle of the day was the ideal time for them. I encourage sessions at sunset due to the lighting, but your comfort and preference always comes first! I lay out the options and the pros/cons of each one and YOU tell me what works best for you. No matter the time, location, lighting, etc. I can make it work 99% of the time, and if there is any reason I feel that a situation won’t yield the results you expect from me, I always tell you. That is my job as a photographer!

Side note – how gorgeous is mama? She absolutely glowed and her classic Hill House Ellie Nap Dress, which was SO perfect for this session. This dress has been worn by a couple of my lovely clients over the years and it photographs so beautifully in a variety of settings. On that note… maybe I should add one to the client wardrobe?!

Outdoor Newborn Sessions

I have really adapted my business as a Northern Virginia newborn photographer to serve my clients and modern times. One of those ways has been to start offering outdoor newborn sessions as of May 2020, and let me tell you, they are the BEST! There is nothing quite as as capturing a new baby in a Moses basket out in nature. We may need to be extra careful in the planning process to make sure that these precious sessions go as smoothly as possible but it is so worth it!
