Baby Ethan’s Outdoor Newborn Session

I had an absolute blast photographing this sweet family for baby Ethan’s newborn session! As a Potomac Maryland newborn photographer, I strive to capture your most precious moments in a timeless and emotive way. Baby details are so fleeting, memorializing every single one in photos is one of my areas of expertise! One of the ways I like to do this during outdoor newborn sessions is to photograph baby in a Moses basket. Indoors, usually we would use a crib or bassinet in lifestyle newborn sessions, but the Moses basket really gives a precious feel to photos! I wanted to take a minute to share how deeply fulfilling my job can be, especially when I am able to use sessions to connect with people who are genuinely kind and positive souls. This family was exactly that and I am so grateful! We had such a great time during this session. The cloudy day made for perfect lighting! Gorgeous mom Marisa’s beautiful black dress highlighted her golden complexion perfectly. I typically shy away from suggesting black for sessions but there are definitely cases where it works out PERFECTLY and this was one of them!!

At the end of the session, baby Ethan changed into a hand drawn onesie that was his father’s and it was such a sweet moment to capture. I strongly encourage bringing sentimental items to your sessions – outfits, blankets, toys, etc. Anything that has meaning to you is worth including in photos.
