Lake Huron Michigan Portraits
One of the things I love most in life is to travel, and it is always so special traveling to my beautiful home state of Michigan. As a North Potomac newborn photographer, using photography to document my own family is something that brings me such joy. We spent a lot of time in Michigan the last few years to be with my family as my dad battled terminal cancer. It was very bittersweet but I am grateful to have had cherished family time in the place I call home.
One of my favorite memories was a trip to Lake Huron my sister and I took with Maia on an unseasonably warm November day. It was overcast and foggy and the sky just melted into the lake. The sunset was the most incredible pink and purple sky that reflected fire onto the lake below. It was truly magical and I am so grateful to have some photos of Maia to remember it by!

I think these days I have to say it… These photos are not in any way artificially manipulated. I shoot true-to-life and edit to reflect what your eyes would see. There is no crazy Photoshop or AI! It was truly this magical in real life!
Hands down, this was the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen. I am so grateful to have shared it with two of my favorite ladies. Michigan is truly one of the most beautiful states. I highly recommend visiting! From rolling sand dunes to stunning beaches and everything in between, there is a little something for everyone. I think for people who haven’t visited, it is hard to imagine the vastness of the Great Lakes. They are huge! It is easy to forget that they are lakes and not larger bodies of water… Until you dip your toes and realize they are a touch colder than you might expect!
As a North Potomac newborn photographer, traveling to different places with my camera is my favorite past time! I may not get to do it as often as I would like, but I am hopeful that this year will bring more adventures. We may just have a special July trip planned that I am so excited about!
