As a Great Falls maternity photographer, it is true magic when everything falls into place during sessions. Location, weather, light, season, wardrobe – so many variables impact the final look of a session. I love each and every one for their own reasons, but there are a few that stand out when all of these things align. This stunning maternity session for Degie and Pat was one of those sessions. The weather was unseasonably warm and the light was absolutely perfect. Despite it being a little unusually busy in this beautiful location, I used all of my tricks to hide people hanging out in the background! Nothing beats a neutral, long dress on a pregnant mama. The ABP Wardrobe Experience
Great Falls maternity photographer, I always advise my clients that wardrobe selection (and location) are the two biggest variables impacting the feel of your photos. There is a much different look to photos when wearing neutral versus bright colors, so while I encourage you to lean heavily on your own style and preferences, it is important to consider what is most flattering in front of the camera. Neutral, light colors that reflect light are so beautiful on everyone! That isn’t to say that black, muted browns tones, and rich blues and greens don’t have their place too, especially if these colors are more your vibe. I love that this mama chose two very different dresses for her session. A quick change into her second dress provided her with a more diverse set of photos with just about 10 minutes of shooting time.
One of the big things I am working on in 2025 is building a diverse client wardrobe of timeless dresses for all shapes and sizes.
