This beautiful cherry blossom newborn session was such a joy to shoot! Looking back at these photos makes me so excited that Maryland spring is right around the corner now. Ok, maybe not RIGHT around the corner but we start seeing blooms in March here! Coming from Michigan, it is such a gift to have a true spring earlier in the year. Sometimes it snows in May where I grew up!
We lucked out with this beautiful Maryland spring newborn session during peak cherry blossom bloom! Hitting locations at precisely the right time can be a challenge and I am so glad we were able to photograph this beautiful fluffy pink backdrop.
Baby Madeline was the calmest baby. We kept shooting after the sun had set and she was still so relaxed throughout her session. I love how her sweet mom and dad’s blue and pink color scheme worked perfectly together. You can truly never go wrong with a solid colored light pink dress for mom! It always looks beautiful against green backdrops and flatters all skin tones. Also, when wearing colors it is important to have pops of neutrals, and baby Madelines cream outfit was an ideal choice!

Cherry blossom season is rapidly approaching! I am taking on a limited number of sessions during the spring season, so please don’t hesitate to reach out asap if you are interested. The tidal basin is undergoing a major renovation project so it won’t look the same for a while.
