As a photographer, a National Arboretum Maternity Session is one of my absolute favorites! Every photographer will tell you they have favorite locations. This is definitely one of mine! Unfortunately, I was the last photographer to shoot here when photography permits ceased to be issued last year. I am crossing my fingers that this changes! This epic location provides the most beautiful, classic DC backdrop without the hustle and bustle of tourists being everywhere. It is the perfect combination of classic architectural features with nature.

This beautiful mama borrowed a gorgeous kimono style wrap dress from the client wardrobe! The weather was absolutely perfect for this National Arboretum maternity session! The blue skies were beautiful as they reflected on the pond behind this gorgeous mama!

While the National Arboretum may not currently be an option for sessions, there are many more stunning locations throughout the DMV. This area offers natural backdrops, classic columns, and/or special features like architecture and flowers – anything you could want. I am committed to working closely with each client to identify the best location for each session! One of my goals this year is to shoot at locations I haven’t yet had the opportunity to. It is January and I have already crossed one location off my wishlist, but I still have a few left!
