As a DC maternity photographer, one of my big goals of 2026 was to photograph in new locations, and I am happy to say I am definitely meeting that goal! When Rebecca and and John reached out about a Navy Yards maternity session, I was so excited to not only photograph in a beautiful new spot, but also to head back to my old stomping grounds! My husband and I lived in Navy Yards for a year after we got married, and I absolutely love the area. It looks a lot different now, and is truly a gorgeous area for portraits. I love that Rebecca and John also did their wedding photos in this area, so returning during this special chapter of life had extra special meaning.

How gorgeous was Rebecca in this Ivy City Co. Hattie dress? The light blue (one of my favorite colors for photo sessions!) popped beautifully along the Navy Yards backdrops. John’s outfit also perfectly complimented Rebecca’s dress – everything for this session came together so perfectly! I love that they brought special onesies and baby booties for some photos as well.

As a DC maternity photographer, this Navy Yards maternity session was such a joy. A sweet couple, beautiful backdrops, and a stunning summer evening! It couldn’t have been more perfect and I can’t wait to photograph more sessions here soon. It is so full of DC charm outside of the typical National Mall shots, and provides the perfect backdrop for all kinds of portrait sessions.
